Dear Ms. Vivian,

We hope you have received the notice for your PSAT tomorrow.

However, this is not a warm reminder for you telling you to prepare...

This message is notifying you that please, for the good of this generation,

JUST SIT THERE FOR 3 HOURS AND DO NOTHING.

If you are wondering why, this is because you have been the person with the lowest grade last year around the world.

We have never seen a person with negative points in their result?

This association is wondering how you can put every single answer wrong when you can still get a score if you put all answers with C.

Apparently, you were genius enough to choose every single wrong answers from the test.

For your good, we suggest you to sit there and do nothing to at least get a positive score of 280 for each subjects, which gives you a total of 840 points in your test. At least... you can get into the University of NegativePSATScores.

If you do so, we will even select you as the person who gets the scholarship this year for you to save your money for college.

We strongly urge you to do as we suggest to get a positive score in your PSAT.

Thank you for your cooperation and we hope you have a nice, sweet dream during your PSAT tomorrow.

P.S (The scholarship is actually for you to pay what you've done to our machine... Your negative scores broke our machines and apparently that is why you didn't get any results last year.)

Sincerely,

The SAFMM (Stay Away From My Machine) Association.

Feeling sorry for Celia - Letter 1

Kassy and I are reading the book "Feeling Sorry for Celia" by Jaclyn Moriarty, which is an epistolary novel, a novel written completely in letters. Therefore, Kassy told me to write a letter to myself...

Dear Ms VVN,

It has come to our attention that you are incredibly bad at being a teenager.

You are definitely NOT COOL.

I mean, check your cellphone! Why would someone even have their own lock screen wallpaper with a photo of your own? And seriously? The passcode? KPOP stars? Give me a break! Most importantly, you blog??!! Why will someone even use blogs and talk about reading and English in their extra time? Do you have way too much time for chatting or something?

You are a typical NERD. You check your grades online everyday, you write your homework, you write essays?! OH WOW, who cares about grades in the 21st century? You're afraid of getting B+ than A's? THAT IS SICK.

OH MY GOD, just live your life a little. NO MAKE-UPS ON YOUR FACE? Look at those pimples on your face? They look like carrots planting in your face! GROSS!!!

Not to hurt your feelings or anything, but you're an embarrassment to teenager-hood. Therefore, can you please go to the most unseen corner in the world and draw little circles and wait until your teenage years end?

Thank you for helping

Your sincerely,
The Association of Teenagers

P.S( Please at least put some lotion on your skin, even grandma's skin quality is smoother and better than yours.)

The Lottery

The Lottery, a short story written by Shirley Jackson, was mainly about a town that does a lottery every year, which was passed down by the town's tradition. The story gave a great twist at the end that surprised the readers by stating that the lotteries were drawn for someone's death.

Before reading the short story, I remembered myself telling Kassy that I like O. Henry's story. However, I didn't know I will be reading a story with great twist at the ending just then. In the beginning, I was curious how picking lotteries could be a "scene" in the story for such a long time. At the end, I finally realized the reason that the author had been describing the preparation of lottery for so long - to build suspense. Now that I think of it, by building suspense for such a long time would also make people curious what will happen next, and also make people think that the lottery would not be simply picking for the "lottery" we know.

In this story, the author was trying to give a message to us readers: Although passing tradition is what people believe, if that part of culture is ridiculous, there is no use of passing it down. Mr. Warner, who was 77 years old in the story was saying that it was ridiculous for the towns around to be stopping their tradition. However, the man didn't realize, as the society changes, us human also have to change.

LeBron James Getting Married

On September 14, 2013, the NBA Basketball Player LeBron James married Savannah Brinson, who was LeBron's long time girlfriend. The ceremony took place in San Diego, in which about 200 guests attended the private wedding. LeBron James and Savannah Brinson had been together since High School. Then, LeBron proposed at Miami Beach on Jan. 1, 2012. The whole wedding was very secure, and even the guests have to go to tents and have securities right outside. While on the other hand, Savannah Brinson said that she was both excited and nervous. LeBron only discussed the wedding in general, but not specifically since LeBron wanted to make sure "that Savannah gets whatever she wants on her day, the wedding day she always dreamed of."

I was a big NBA fan ever since I've been into the NBA store at Shanghai, which was on the day that Boston Celtics were playing against Los Angeles Lakers for Championship. However, after following NBA games for so many years, I never really know further more about the players' other than the teams they play on and how well they are. LeBron James was one of my favorite NBA player, but I just notice about the news that he's getting married today. I was shock and surprised at first, but then I actually felt glad for him since he's actually not as young anymore.

Reporters and guests had stated that the ceremony was very secured. I believe that most stars or famous people should have any of their events privately since everyone follows and looks at what they did, what they have, who they're with, and etc. It's pretty obvious that most people don't want their private issues to be opened to everyone. Therefore, in my opinion, having "intense, security measures" is fairly normal and important to prevent any dangerous or unpredictable events from happening.
